What’s the story behind Chastain’s Cottages?
My grandmother, Eula Chastain, started renting homes on Folly Beach in the 1940s. My mother took over from her, and now I continue the tradition. I live on-site and manage everything personally with help from my family.
What makes Chastain’s Cottages different from other vacation rentals?
I think it’s the personal touch. We’re a family-run business with deep roots on Folly. I’ve added original artwork to many of the cottages, and some of the homes were even built by my grandfather. I’m close by if you need anything — but always respect your privacy.
What do returning guests love most?
Guests often tell me they appreciate how peaceful it is, how close everything is to the beach, and how responsive and welcoming I am. Many have returned year after year — and some have become friends.

That’s what I offer — five pet-friendly rentals just steps from the beach. Two are oceanfront homes and three are cozy condos, all managed by me and my family right here on the island.
